When asked the simple question:
"Do you love her?"
I look back, smile and shake my head
"No."
Love is not the standard by which I rate our relationship,
The thing we have does not need words to describe it
It does not need to be placed into a confined box where it becomes trapped.
The word love is used so easily,
Used constantly by everyone to everyone
Even to those they don't love to make their relationship valid.
So no, I do not love her.
I cherish her.
I cherish the way she smiles,
I cherish when she laughs.
I appreciate her.
I appreciate the way she listens,
I appreciate when she understands me.
I do not love her,
Because love is a wall put up my society to create relationships
That truly mean nothing at all.
And I want us to be more than that,
More than just nothing at all.
