Poetry On Odyssey: The Harmony Between Land and Sea

There's just something magical about the harmony the land and sea have.

If I could walk anywhere, I'd walk out of my life for the day and go to the beach.

The beach is one of my favorite places to be.

I would walk to the beach and feel the dry sand and shells beneath my feet as I walk towards the sea.

The sea splashing against the sandy shore, making sure its presence is known.

As I walk towards the sea, I'd still feel the dry sand beneath my feet,

but slowly the sand would become damp

and then it would become mud-like beneath my feet,

right where the land and sea meet in harmony.

I'd stop for a moment,

to appreciate the harmony that I'm a part of,

the harmony between the land and the sea.

I'd appreciate this harmony,

just like I appreciate the harmony between the sun and the moon,

and how they have harmony with the changing from day to night.

I'd continue to appreciate the harmony I have in my life.

The harmony between me and those I hold close,

my best friends,

my significant other,

my co-workers,

my family,

everyone who has stayed in my life.

All while the water rushes over my feet,

making it's presence known,

and cementing me into place.

A good place,

physically and mentally,

one of the best places I've been in my life in quite sometime.

All while the day meets the night.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
