Poetry on Odyssey: A Moment to Laugh

Poetry on Odyssey: A Moment to Laugh

Please give me:

A moment to laugh,

A moment to breathe,

A moment to smile,

A moment to act stupid.

Because despite my views,

and despite my feelings,

I hate the world right now.

No time to laugh,

No time to breathe,

No time to smile,

No time to act stupid.

Because look, the horror!

The world's burning itself

down to the ground,

leaving only ashes behind.

Give me a break,

I can't handle all this right now.

I'm tired of hearing it again,

all this garbage happening,

all the hate, the lies, the anger.

I'll fight again another day.

I'm not copping out.

But let me laugh,

let me breathe,

let me smile,

let me act stupid.

Because that is the best medicine

for a fighter to have,

when the world is too much

for one person to handle.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
