We resolve ourselves with pretty flashes in the sky.
Pieces of shrapnel fly on by.
We smile and giggle at the sights to see.
We pass by homeless soldiers that used to be.
We pay no attention to the gunshots playing out,
Bang bang bang, we listen to children shout.
Little pieces of metal rip bodies apart.
We cover ours in flashy and grotesque art.
We act high and mighty as we walk on past.
We can't remember when we said thank you last.
We shout and we scream at horror movies playing.
We don't take note of the people's lives not staying.
We rip each other apart with our thoughts.
Across the sea a man's body rots.
We smile and giggle at the sights to see.
We are one and the same, you and me.
We smile and giggle at the sights to see.
We have nightmares that come with a fee.
We smile and giggle at the sights to see.
We watch people die while we drink our morning tea.
We smile and giggle at the sights to see.
We close our eyes as a man falls to one knee.
We smile and giggle at the sights to see.
Fireworks burst, ripping apart you and me.
