It is halfway through this compelling year,

With our nation and the world seeming to still tremble in fear,

Oh dear,

Many interrogate others and themselves

By stating, "what's next?"

We are entering the month of July,

But did you take a single second,

To say, "What a time being alive!"

Individuals have unfortunately passed from this world

Because the pandemic, systemic racism, and police brutality has been hurled

Upon people who are young, middle-aged, and elderly

Why even mention that deceiving statement

As everything is currently in jeopardy

But thank God for simply "being alive"

It is His overwhelming peace and comfort that comes from above

With a bonus of consuming His love

That is beautiful as a gleaming white dove

Life cannot be taken for granted

Because it is truly not promising to anyone

So please take advantage of His will and purpose

That is created solely and unique for you

Meditate on His word daily

Remember he is watching and protecting you like his baby

Life is surely a hassle, no person can deny

But appreciate simply "being alive!"
