Don't let the world catch
you in its net.
Don't let the bland, white knots
take away your vibrant color.
Don't let your captor
admire your beauty;
All they want is
to take away what makes you fly,
your resilience, kindness, and voice,
and banish you behind a thick pane of glass.
Instead, find ways to break out of their grasp.
Chew away at those knots holding you back;
unravel those threads, and fly far away.
FInd your fellow butterflies and soar as high
as you can
so that no human can ever make you feel trapped again.
