"I'm tired," She said as the snow fell.
Her eyes drooping, but her mind awake and buzzing.
It was literal hell.
She just wanted some peace.
Not a time for regrets and the past to file in.
Like a fish and its bait,
She reached out, becoming needy.
But, she could never quite catch the bait,
Sailing away from her reach,
Far, far, far away.
Her mind screamed,
And her body became restless.
Her head pounded as she dreamed.
Eyes closed,
Waiting for sleep to come,
But she only dozed,
Never completely asleep.
She opens her eyes and stares,
Hoping to be repaired, somehow.
And with hopes that one day,
She will fall asleep,
Escaping the sleepless nights.
