No need to be envious of the caterpillars;
though they wrap themselves up,
sleep,
then wake up even more beautiful,
even more free.
We, too, hold the potential for great beauty and great freedom.
With each experience
and every scar,
we are transforming into beautiful creatures.
No one can take that away;
no one can take away the metamorphosis
that happens every single day upon waking up
from the dark night’s slumber.
We, too, are capable of such beauty.
Our eyes are wings;
they have given us the opportunity
to see the journey,
to make the memories that are so special to each and every one of us.
They remain the windows to our souls
and hold the key to our hearts.
No need to be envious of the caterpillar;
for we, too, are quite beautiful,
already.
