Never, not even for a moment ,
Had I believed,
That I would receive this bestowment
Or of these things I would have achieved.
Even as I crossed the stage,
I was disbelief of the ending of an age.
The crowd roared with applause
And the room was suffocating
But I only remember a pause,
As I watch the caps rotating
Time froze,
As I arose.
As we flooded out the double doors
We didn’t know how to feel,
Fighting internal wars
Difficult to conceal.
Should we release cheers
Or let flow tears?
Suddenly,
The world is so much more vibrant.
Surrounded by this company
Who am I to deny the excitement?
Because the pages are flying by
But my friend, there are chapters to try.
