God Bless Teresa Pijanowski

A Saint & Teacher in a league of her own

She was, my father said, a special person

Independent, faithful until the day was done

The classroom was her element

Hours before, hours after she always spent

Grading papers, labs, tutoring as she went

Ms. P always had a grade A sense of humor

an unquenchable curiosity, a jovial demeanor

always conquering the challenges laid before her

A philosopher, lover of knowledge

she adored all trivia, all manner of academic subjects

could become her forte

Teresa Pijanowski (May 7, 1955-March 27, 2018) was a chemistry teacher, Masterminds coach, mentor and friend at Amsterdam High School. Her unique personality and life long love of learning made her a treasure and pleasure to be around. She is an inspiration to all young women who desire to pursue a career of academic and scientific excellence. Ms. P will be sorely missed by the countless people whose hearts she touched in her short stay here.

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right?
