The Cadence of Chaos

Poetry On Odyssey: Furious Romance

Gently, cautiously, a chorus of crickets sing your praises.

Like the gentle breeze that makes the lilly dance, I whisper your name in my prayers.

Like the banks of the Mississippi when the water subsides, I long for your touch

Like the calmness of the dark, you embrace me in your arms and hide me from the world.

And though my love for you is shy and silent, it’s fury knows no bounds.

Like two bolts of lightning crashing together in the empty sky, we are electric

Like the kick drum of a bass line, my soul demands your presence

Like the roar of a lion who’s rage shakes the Serengeti

My lioness does come and rest her head on my neck

So that the king of the jungle may regain his sanity

It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
