Poetry On Odyssey: Glowing Eyes

This is another poem for my series of poetry in response to Twenty-One Pilots. This one is based on the song Glowing Eyes. When I was writing it, I played with formatting a lot and ended up just using a different font for the italicized words. The poem itself wasn't really planned out, but more just me typing whatever I thought sounded good.

Glowing Eyes

I feel their

Eyes

They watch me in the

Dark

They sing to me at

Night

When I can't

Sleep

I hear them in my

Dreams

It makes me feel

Dead

It fills me with

Dread

Just make them

Stop

Make them

STOP

Make them

stop…

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
