I hear the screams of pain echo.
Cries from the gaping maw of the black beast,
Scathing words, piercing me like knives.
I endure the jeers of those around me.
The shadows inside me, swirling like whirlpools.
My sorrow rains down like the storm above,
As both the sky and the beast sheds speckled tears.
I leave that hateful place behind,
Finding salvation in new surroundings.
Swirling inky blackness stirs as brightness breaks through.
Jeers become cheers and harsh words are soft,
Caressing me with tickling warmth,
Leaping blue flames banish the shadows.
Swirling hues ripple through calm waters,
Baby blues and soft pinks bleed through.
I reach redemption. I am born anew.
