How can I afford to forget the small wonders?
What could ever overwhelm my soul enough to make me forget the beauty of the little things,
the little things that are really so magnificent?
You, YOU gave the stars their brightness.
And yet You also gave movement to my fragile limbs.
These frail and empty hands that I lift up to You in a feeble attempt at praise,
they're only here because of You.
Because of You, I can boil a kettle of water and watch the steam rise as I pour it slowly into a mug. You created the precious leaves that make my tea so delicious.
You alone have given my feet the ability to stand rooted and balanced.
Just You, ONLY You, are the one making my life worth living and every mundane day worth facing.
You bring delight into the most ordinary corners of my life, and my praise to you just doesn't feel like enough.
My whispers of gratitude don't suffice as enough thanks for all that You've done.
Let my words never cease to glorify Your wondrous grace and mercy.
For even the things that seem the smallest and most insignificant are indescribably marvelous when I'm living in Your world.
