The cold sweeps in quickly, frost covering the ground

Decorations are visible to all those around.

The Holidays come with much hurrah

as families gather to celebrate.

The snow quickly builds and so do the crowds

at all of the different stores and malls.

The Holidays are here once again,

but it is not necessarily about how much you spend.

Gifts can come in all shapes and sizes

but the best gift of all is seeing the love in your eyes.

The dinner is set and all looks great

but the children sit at the fireplace to wait.

We must break this habit, we must not expect

but instead learn to love the things that we get.

Tis the season to give, but not to receive

we all need to learn this lesson this Christmas Eve.
