Silence In A Young Male’s Room
Worries tend to pour out over
The numbing sensation it assails humans with.
When the click-clack of the ramshackle ceiling-fan
And the tinkle of the fish tank filter becomes static to ears.
Soon the ambiance of the white noise decays,
Now the sound of the nothing ruptures the dim air.
The sound fools with us as it forces
The thoughts of the mind to fill the air, growing louder.
Remedies of playing Metallica into deafened ears
Or putting on that episode of Star Trek we can quote with occur.
But it has become too late even at the first second,
As the thoughts of the mind become louder, rowdier and fill the room.
The entire room consumed with thunderous thoughts,
Roaming over the food crumbs of last night to fill the edges of the canvas walls,
And filling past that hole in the corner we forgot to fix while remodeling.
