A Poem For The Girl Who Struggles To See Her Self Worth

You see her standing there across your way,

And to yourself you begin to say,

Gosh she's perfect, her life seems so great.

Could I be like her, or is it too late?

You stare and you stare, in great disbelief

That a smile so bright could be hiding such grief.

You say no way, not her, she's got it all!

She's pretty, she's funny and she walks so tall.

You fail to come up with something she lacks,

but little do you know when she's alone, her mind attacks .

She lies in her bed, tears running down her face,

each one seeming as if it is some sort of race.

She tries to hold it in, and make her cries silent,

As her mind slowly becomes more and more violent.

She continues to wonder what it is she's doing wrong,

For it was her confidence that was missing all along.

You know it's her confidence that's lacking, for when she looks in the mirror,

she's blind to her blessings, if only she could see clearer.

Constantly worrying and wanting to change,

She wonders why only she is feeling so strange.

She carries on with her life, hiding her struggles,

Wondering why no one else has any of these troubles.

She wonders why me? What did I do,

God answers "look around darling, it's not only you.

You all do nothing but put yourselves down,

and after all of my hard work, seeing that leaves me with nothing but a frown.

For in my eyes I have created a masterpiece, so wonderful and unique,

But everyone wants to change something about their physique.

Open your eyes darling, stop putting yourself down,

Instead treat yourself as royalty, and put on your crown.

In all of your troubles, realize that you are not alone,

and the next time you see a beautiful girl busy on her phone,

Don't wish your life was like hers, something new,

Because darling, that beautiful girl is YOU. "

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.
