I know, I know, must young people hear the word "podcast" and think B-O-R-I-N-G. However, I promise they aren't all that boring! If you value and enjoy conversation or storytelling, then podcasts might be something you actually enjoy.

1. Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad

Scrubbing In was the first podcast I ever listened to. You may know Becca Tilley from her successful swimsuit line or her social media personality, or maybe even her two stints on the Bachelor. When iHeartRadio decided to pair up Becca with her BFF radio personality Tanya Rad, bachelor nation and KIIS FM listeners tuned in form all over to hear their favs.

Now listeners who previously knew neither of the girls are stumbling upon this People Choice Award winning podcast and relating to so much of the content. Tanya's bubbly, optimistic, modern woman way of life perfectly compliments Becca's Mcdonald's loving, homebody, personality and the two literally are a match made in heaven. They talk about navigating life in all aspects including, dating, professional opportunities and work, current trends, and of course Grey's Anatomy (hence the Scrubbing In title).

They have weekly guests that they chat with for part of the podcast, and then often transition into fun games, answering listener emails to give advice, and even sometimes do segments like "Ask a Guy" where listeners send in questions for men, and they either call guys or ask their male guests in person. It's the perfect podcast for young women everywhere.

2. Armchair Experts

One of my personal favorites and the iHeartRadio Award for Breakout Podcast, Armchair Experts is a podcast you don't want to sleep on, and it will never put you to sleep. Hosted by Dax Shepard and his co-host Monica Padman, the pod dives deep into the lives of the weekly guests, talking about anything from failures, successes, careers, addiction, sexuality, parenting, and really, anything under the sun! That's the beauty of it.

Every Monday, the podcast airs a new episode with a new guest, and it currently has over 80 episodes, including their special Wednesday releases in the "Experts on Expert" category where they bring in just that, experts from all fields. Their website describes the pod as "celebrating the messiness of being human", which is a perfect representation of the show.

If you enjoy listening to honest, open, vulnerable, and genuine conversations, then this is the podcast for you. You will never get tired of hearing one of your favorite stars or experts as a guest, and really feeling as if you're in the attic where they record with Dax and Monica, becoming a legit armchair expert.

3. Serial

If you're not a big conversationalist, but one mystery and crime, check out Serial. It's a classic murder mystery pod where the host, Sarah Koenig, uncovers details of controversial cases, particularly the one involving Adnan Sayed. Koenig in many ways turns herself into a detective and pours her heart and solve into solving the case of whether Adnan is guilty or not.

Every episode will leave you wanting more, and you can decide for yourself if the suspected individuals are guilty or not.

4. Directionally Challenged

If you love Vampire Diaries, you may know Candice King and Kayla Ewell, who play Caroline and Vicki in the television show and are real-life BFF's. The pod is described on their website as "A Podcast About Realigning Your Internal Compass".

The 30 something women discuss their personal struggles and findings within marriage, building a family, acting, being a woman in today's society, and many other relatable subject topics. The two are honest and vulnerable about their normal and validated feelings, which is refreshing coming from two young, successful women in the entertainment industry.

Be sure to give them a listen if you're just looking to feel a bit guided in this crazy life journey.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
