P!NK Is A Role Model For Everyone, And For Good Reason
Press of Atlantic City

Last week my family and I attended a P!NK concert in Atlantic City! She put on an incredible show, packed full of dance numbers, props, costume changes, and many shoutouts to her own family, who were also in attendance. Like any good artist, she connected to her fans in a way that made us all feel united.

As I looked around at this audience, I noticed the variety which made it up. There were children, young adults, fully grown adults, and elders. Groups of girlfriends came together, moms and dads brought their daughters and sons, aunts brought their nieces, and groups of guys enjoyed themselves to the fullest. Different ethnicities and backgrounds could also be seen. It was quite a realization, but it also didn't matter at all.

People from all walks of life gathered to watch this show and everyone in that audience became friends. It was beautiful. It got me thinking, why does this artist have such a huge, dedicated, and unique fan base? The answer wasn't hard to figure.

When listening to P!NK's music, several aspects can be pointed out. Many recognize her voice is outstanding. One may notice that she likes to swear. Another may find that she writes about love and personal experience whether it be heartbreak or simply what's on her mind.

Regardless of these observations, it stands true that P!NK's lyrics are honest, never fabricated, as raw as it gets. She pours every ounce of passion, anger, and truth, through the highs and the lows into her music. People respect this. They want to listen to a person who has been right where they have before. Don't you?

Through the vulnerability that can be found in her songs also comes a message. As P!NK's fans, we are encouraged to love on one another and to accept all people, even those different from us. This is why everyone loves P!NK because everyone feels like they belong when listening to her music. We are encouraged to give it our all in "Try," to love ourselves for who we are in "Perfect," and to walk away when we've had enough of the things that stress us out in "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)."

And of course, there are songs for break ups, make ups and losses. P!NK is someone just like us, as crazy as that sounds. She's a rockstar, a mom, an advocate, and a true entertainer. That's what makes her so appealing. So, let's raise our glass to the one and only P!NK! Party on, be you, and have no regrets!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
