Hello my plus size beauties! Summer is rapidly approaching and I know many of you have a love/hate relationship with the summer due to the fact that our bodies produce more body heat then normal since we have more meat on our bones than some. It's understandable that we might feel a little uncomfortable, but have no fear because I’m here to give some pretty helpful tips to surviving the summer!

# 1 Cotton

Wear a lot of light colored, cotton based clothing and underwear that is loose fitting. I guarantee that you will much cooler and carefree. Cotton underwear is a must because tighter, silky underwear during the summer months can be quite uncomfortable and may lead to a yeast infection.

#2 Cool Bed Sheets

Pop your bed sheets into the freezer for a few minutes before it is time for you to go to bed. All though it probably won’t last the entire night, it should keep you comfortable and cool enough to put you to sleep.

#3 Ice Packs

Get some ice packs (or create your own) and keep them in the freezer. Then take them out for when you go out, or even before you go to bed.

#4 Baby Powder

After showering, make sure that you are completely dry. Then apply baby powder anywhere you sweat the most. This helps control the sweat and keep you dry. Plus it is very cheap and smells amazing.

#5 Unscented Soap

Use unscented soap to get rid of all the scents from your body. It locks in your natural oils and gets rid of the unnatural ones like lotions, body sprays, perfumes, etc. Then when you apply any other body sprays or lotions, it will last longer on your body.

#6 Fabric Softener

Make sure to use plenty of fabric softener when washing your clothes to ensure that they will stay nice and fresh all day long. Suprisingly a lot of people don't really use fabric softener and think it's a waste, but it actually does help ladies!

#7 Drink Water!

I can't stress enough how important this is! Drinking water keeps you hydrated, flushes out toxins, increases energy, and helps even your skin tone and clear acne.

Lastly, just have fun ladies! Summer 2017 is the year that the best memories will be made. I can feel it. Also, don't be discouraged by images of smaller women in those tiny bikini's with those perfect bodies. Remember, thick thighs saves lives honey!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
