Finding clothes can be difficult for plus-size women like me. You shouldn't be ashamed about it because nowadays, fashion designers are expanding their clothes size and more importantly, you should love the skin you're in. Here are some tips on shopping while being beautifully plus-sized.
1. Look online for stores that sell plus sizes.
Have you ever gone into a store and found that even through the clothing sizes went up to large or extra large, they were just totally, completely too small? I know your first reaction is thinking that you're simply just too big. Well, stop thinking that! Just because some companies write the label as a large or extra large does not mean that it will fit. All clothing is different. Stores will not always accommodate plus-size women.
2. Always try the clothes on in the store.
We all have probably ordered clothes from the Internet because it's quick and you don't even have to leave your house. Sometimes, the product doesn't look like what it did online. Also, keep in mind that the models who are wearing it are made up to look perfect. Trying clothes on might be a pain, but you will get to see if you like it or not, without having to wait and send it back.
3. Don't freak out if it doesn't fit.
This took me a long time to get over because I always felt like nothing would fit correctly. That was until I realized that getting a bigger size wasn't the end of the world. Your size doesn't define who you are! Simply just exchange the smaller size for a bigger one. If you have to go get a bigger size, just look in the mirror and say, "Size does not define me!"
4. Try going shopping with someone who is plus-sized.
Going shopping with someone who is plus-size can eliminate some stress you have about shopping. Ladies, have you ever gone shopping with a friend who is a lot smaller than you are and it seems like they can just walk into any store and instantly walk out with clothes? Well, this is why shopping with a person who is the same size as you might be easier. You won't have to worry about going into stores you know aren't plus-size friendly.
5. Don't be afraid to take risks.
You don't have to wear boring clothes anymore! The fashion world is changing for plus-size women and it makes it a lot easier for women to express themselves. First things first, stop worrying what others may think; as long as you're happy, that's all that matters. I had trouble wearing my arms out for a long time until one day, I finally told myself that I am beautiful. This is something a lot of plus-size women struggle with, but just remember that women in general struggle with this problem, too. Stay beautiful, stay confident and keep slaying!
