An Open Letter to My E Pluribus Fam

Coming back to school this summer I did not expect to make a family with the people in E Pluribus. The people in this group have quickly made their way into my heart. I did not see this coming. After spending only a few days with these people it became evident they knew more about me then people I have been friends with for years. This awesome group of individuals have helped make a home and put themselves in it. They have already seen me cry, and laugh until I snort! They have been here to see how sleep deprivation affects me and they still seem to love and accept me. For those exact reasons these are the 8 reasons why I love these crazy, croaky individuals.

1. They are accepting

I have shared so much with these people. They know some of my darkest secrets and yet they accept me. They are there for me. They let me get my frustration out. I never get any judgement from them. All I have ever received from them all is pure acceptance.

2. They are the funniest human beings I have ever met.

The jokes are constantly thrown around by these hilarious people. I feel like if our group was put in a comedy show we would knock it out of the park. These people are genuinely funny. Oh, and all the inside jokes we have would annoy just about anyone.

3. They are talented.

These people are talented and when I say Talented I mean talented with a capital T. We have singers, musicians, dancers, writers, speakers, and wonderful creators. It is so cool to be part of such a group of talented individuals. They each brought something special to the group. Their talent would wow anyone and make any mom really proud.

4. They have such big hearts.

Their hearts are so big! They have committed to making a difference and spreading the good. They have committed their heart and body to long exhausting hours. Even with all the hours they are putting in they always seem to come in with high energy and a willingness to happily continue.

5. They make me smile.

They have the oddest jokes ever. They always seem to know the right things to say. They give me the kind of smiles that have my face hurting for a day.

6. They deal with my ugly tears.

I am most definitely not a pretty crier. I have had situations that have gotten to me. They were all there and that really meant a lot. They let me cry it out without interpreting and wait until I am ready to talk about.

7. They have opened up to me.

This is a group that most definitely will make you angry, happy, sad, and so many other feelings. These people were sweet enough to open up to me and let me in and see a sneak peak of what their lives are really like. I apperciate it in every single way.

8. I have spent crazy hours with them.

I spend about 7 hours each day with these people and sometimes so much more. I apperciate their company and presence. The time spent with them is time spent right.

E Pluribus this one goes to you! Thank you so much for being a great family! I love you all!!!!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
