Music for when you need to ugly cry.

Playlist #1: Sad Girl/Sad Boy
The Gamutt

For the nights you want to curl up in bed with a box of Kleenex. For exes and could-have-beens. For long days and sad thoughts. Sometimes, all you need is a good ugly cry.

1. "Lies" - MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS

You only ever touch me
In the dark
Only if we're drinking can you see my spark
And only in the evening could you give yourself to me

2. "Breathe Me" - Sia

I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And the worst part is there's no one else to blame

3. "Doing It Wrong" - Drake

We live in a generation of, not being in love, and not being together
But we sure make it feel like we're together
Cause we're scared to see each other with somebody else

4. "To Build a Home" - The Cinematic Orchestra

And, I built a home
For you
For me

Until it disappeared
From me
From you

5. "How You Gonna (Tyrese Remix)" - Sydney Renae

But I wish you well though
That all that I could tell you
Maybe in your next life you'll find everything you wanted

6. "Dreams" - Kelsey Lu

Just wanna get my mind off of you
Out drinking every night hoping I'll run into you
I know you're no good boy, I can't get enough of you

7. "Good To Love" - FKA twigs

It's not your fault that I've loved to my limit
I've had plenty so I know you're mine
If only a prayer would make your touch so I'd feel it
But I'd be wasting time

8. "Bad Religion" - Frank Ocean

It's a bad religion
This unrequited love
To me it's nothing but a one-man cult
And cyanide in my Styrofoam cup
I can never make him love me

9. "Missing" - The xx

My heart is beating in a different way
Been gone such a long time and I feel the same

10. "Without U" - Spooky Black

I tried to protect you
From my hands you left
You broke my heart right there, all I do is stare, no you'll never fucking care

11. "Emotion" - Destiny's Child

Come home to me, darling
Don't you know there's nobody left in this world
To hold me tight

12. "Heavy in Your Arms" - Florence + The Machines

I was a heavy heart to carry
my beloved was weighed down
My arms around his neck
My fingers laced to crown

13. "Don't Speak" - No Doubt

Don't speak
I know what you're thinking
I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me cause it hurts

14. "Comfort Inn Ending (Freestyle)" - Jhené Aiko

If I would've known that you would hurt me like in the worst way
'Cause that night turned into every weekend and
Every weekend turned to every evening
You took me out and left me in the deep end

15. "All I Want" - Kodaline

But if you loved me
Why'd you leave me?
Take my body,
Take my body.

16. "Summertime" - Vince Staples

Open up your heart, if we don't love then we fall apart
This could be forever, baby, I never seen you wetter, baby
Then when the tears fall soakin' up your sweater, baby
I didn't mean harm, don't make me regret it, baby

17. "Miss You" - Aaliyah

Off to college
Yes, you went away
Straight from high school
You up and left me
We were close friends
Also lovers

18. "Sandcastles" - Beyoncé

We build sand castles
That washed away
I made you cry

19. "I Can't Make You Love Me" - Bonnie Raitt

You can't make your heart feel
Something it won't.
Here in the dark
In these final hours,
I will lay down my heart

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
