Playing For Keeps

We're not in high school anymore, so just be honest about your intentions.

Let's be real, we are no longer in high school. "Playing games" with a person you're interested in isn't something you want to do anymore. You're passed that. Why keep playing games? Why keep running around the same circle? We're not 15-years-old anymore. We are now considered "adults" to our government. We are legalized to vote on the next leader of our country, yet a good amount of us can't be upfront and honest about our own feelings. I mean, I get it. I'm guilty of it too. Most of us have been hurt in someway and our trust been tested but, those are just high school run around excuses. Be mature, own up and be honest.

At this point, college whether it's undergraduate, graduate, law school or med school, this time now is the prime time in our lives for us to meet and be with the person you may end up walking down the aisle with one day. I mean after all, you are in your 20's. It's a part of growing up. So, how about instead of playing the high school games we go ahead and play for keeps? By that I mean, let's be adults and use our words to talk, let's actually talk face to face. I mean, what happened to having a face to face conversation? Why is it so easy for you to say things hiding behind a screen?

Another issue we have is social media. All I am saying is that if you're going to play a game, why not play one you get to win something? At one point, that was the point of a relationship. I mean a relationship, where you talk, you communicate, you can be yourself with, be open with on every aspect of life. The way I see it and others see it is a relationship is a test to see if someone is actually worth committing to. It's not for two people to sit and waste each other's time. There's always people willing to be upfront about their intentions with you, even if it's disrespectful in some of the ways they say it. I respect that. I mean why wouldn't I? They had the nerve to be upfront and completely honest. I mean, I dismiss them after doing so, but they were honest and mature. They were trying to run the game on me. Because just like I know those people are out there, there are also people who just want one thing, but they will lie and day in and out continue to lie to get it. Then once they do, it's "This isn't working for me" . Ladies and gentlemen, watch yourselves. That is all I have to say. Because both sexes are guilty of it.

I guess I just want to know when playing the game to win something turned into running game, and when it's going to change.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
