UPDATE:

The attacks have already started. Several pages and groups have been affected, most notably a Facebook page for a comic strip called "Assigned Male" about a little girl's experiences being trans. The Facebook page is down, the original URL seems to be down, as the creator may have been doxxed according to some rumors from people who were trying to stop the chaos on her cartoons Facebook page.

I managed to get in contact with one of the many women who were there, trying to stop the chaos, who was very much affected by what happened. She had this to say.

"On May 6th, 1933, was The Night of Long Knives. Nazi forces overran the German Institute of Sexual Science. It was the largest repository on transgender folk. All the books were destroyed, burned, disintegrated. And I just notice that the world seems to stand by, even though they would love to do it again. In fact, they are doing it again. The official sources of Assigned Male are gone... Now, all that's on the internet are all edits made by Nazis that frame [The Creator] as a white supremacist, Neo-Nazi, skinhead. And liberals have begun publishing that side of the story.

And so the cycle repeats." ~M

There are more people out there that want us dead than there are allies willing to actively fight for us. Please be an ally willing to take a stand. Please don't let this keep happening to us.

We've all heard about cyber bullying. For this reason, it comes as no shock to us that it is happening right now. Though few people have heard about orchestrated cyber bullying. Fewer still know about the event before it happens.

Then of course we have orchestrated cyber attacks. Usually these events get started through Reddit or 4Chan threads, where users take part in petty DDOS attacks in order to promote their own agenda or shut down another. Some of these attacks we even agree with, and others we condemn.

Doxxing is a colloquialism, used as a verb. It means you're taking personal or private information about a person and making it available to the public eye. We all remember the group Anonymous doxxing Donald Trump and releasing his SSN, right? There are more minor versions of this that can be just as problematic. Giving out a person's profile information and instructing others to harass them, for example. While this doesn't qualify as the legal definition of doxxing in and of itself, it does if one of the people you've instructed to target this individual commits a crime.

Now that you're all caught up on what these words mean and what we're discussing, I want to inform all of you of an upcoming raid. A combination of orchestrated cyber bullying, and an orchestrated cyber attack.

The Facebook group known as "/pol/- Politically Incorrect" has some very troubling plans for the LGBTQIA+ community. Specifically targeting Facebook groups such as "Genderfluid Pride", "Genderfluid/Genderflux/Fluidflux Pride & Support", and "Transgender Support Circle". Calling the members of those groups "regressive child molesters". What's more disturbing is that the admins of said group have made no attempt to shut these kinds of plans down. As I write this, these posts are still up, being commented on, and new plans are being made.

As you can see, the plan becomes more and more formulated as the posts go on.

Almost as though it were becoming a bullet point presentation for the group.

If you scroll up, you can clearly see that the initial post got over 160 comments. It would be nice to be able to assume they were dissenting the plan as a whole, but alas, my source got screens of that as well.

Their apparent plan is to spam the groups with as much hateful rhetoric as humanly possible. While simultaneously reporting the group for hate speech, and reporting as many members as they can to get these groups shut down.

You may be asking yourself "Why does this matter?" Well, take a second to consider that the suicide rate for trans people who aren't supported by their families is about 40%. This is actually a low estimate considering that after the election, the suicide rates went up. With the CDC under a gag order, we can't get the actual statistics, but with a small amount of journalistic inquiry, you can see the spike in suicides through the media, the social media, and public records.

Now take a second to consider that if you were trans and had no support system, you might turn to social media. Easily accessible from your phone, no need to try to get to a local group meeting. Everyone is right there, at every hour of every day to help you feel better about what's going on in your life.

These support groups are literally saving lives, and they are popping up all over the place. The removal of these groups, and possibly access to Facebook, and the potential targeting of certain trans members within the groups is as dangerous as it is malicious.

In a world where people seek out anonymity through the internet, we're finding that human beings are very much dark and twisted creatures.

What can you do?

Share this article. Let everyone know what's going on so these support groups can remove the aggressors before they make a move.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
