As soon as summer ends everyone gets nostalgic, days become shorter, the sun starts to lower its temperature with its rays. But one of the best seasons of all waits for us. The hot, sunny days fade away giving space to a cool, breezy air that surrounds us, letting us put long sleeves and jackets on. We can see the landscape changing, the green leaves of the summer months turn slowly into different, beautiful, deep, bright, and warm colors. Wherever we turn, we are captured and surrounded by orange, red, and yellow leaves, an enchanting landscape that leaves us speechless for its perfect beauty. If we walk under numerous colorful trees we are swept up by the charming landscape, by the noise of the large amount of dry leaves on the streets, that it seems as if we are walking onto a colorful path that will take us into a magical world.

Have you ever stopped to think and admire the perfection of nature and its extreme beauty?

The fall season with its fall foliage landscape is just a synonym of how perfect nature can be transformed, slowly and silently, and even if sometimes humans are too busy running around, we must not forget to stop once in a while and appreciate the beauty of nature. Almost everyone knows this little village in New York. Even if you have never been there, I’m sure something comes to your mind when you pronounce the name of this town. This very characteristic place has been well known thanks to a short story written by Washington Irving, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” in 1820. It is a historical area, and it is also considered the most haunted place in the world. It becomes even more suggestive during Autumn, when all the leaves change color underlining that sense of mystery in the air.

The Gillette Castle is a medieval castle that was constructed by William Gillette, an American actor. It seems like a fortress, close to the Connecticut river. This place is so fantastic because it includes not only a museum that is visited regularly by many people daily, but there is an external area of 184 acres full of bridges where you have the chance to hike, walk around, and admire the view. There isn’t a better place to visit this castle if not during fall season. While there you can visit the historical fortress and at the same time treasure this hidden gem that is situated on top of Seven Sister Hills in western Connecticut.

Central Park New York

Central Park is considered the biggest park in Manhattan, New York. It is situated in the center between the Upper West Side andthe Upper East Side. It was inaugurated in 1856 andwas called “the green lung” of New York because it’s the only part of the city away from the pollution of the myriad of cars that travel the city daily. The best time of the year to visit this park is during Fall Foliage, it seems to be immersed in a natural forest away from the city, but the interesting thing is that it is only minutes away from the skyscrapers. The best spot to avoid the confusion of the city. The different colored leaves give a magical and surreal sense of beauty. You can choose to walk around, to bike, to run… or just relax and read on a bench or sit on the grass. Don’t miss it, it will be just a perfect, relaxing landscape, and you will think you are in the movie Autumn in New York with Richard Gere and Winona Ryder.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.
