Spring break seems like it's going to be such a nice long break to split up the spring semester, but it goes by much faster than we expect it to. Make the most of it, especially if you're graduating because this is the last break you might even get! I plan to spend a day relaxing, and the rest exploring. Here are some of my favorite places for this time of year. What adventures will you take this break?

1. John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge

Located at 43 Crest Ave, Narragansett, RI 02882, this preserve is a beautiful place to explore. There are large stretches of beach you can roam, and forested trails as well. Dogs on leashes are welcome too!

2. Quabbin Reservoir

This beautiful place can be found at 100 Winsor Dam Rd., Belchertown, MA 01007. This place has a lot of places to explore, different types of beauty in every nook and cranny of the park. There are 2 areas where you can walk across the dam on paved trails, and there are dirt paths on the property as well. There is plenty of open land for a picnic or to sit and read on a blanket as well. There is an auto road that connects you to almost everything in the park, including the tower that you can walk up and look down on the scenery.

3. Logee's Greenhouse

Unfortunately, it's not always warm during spring break, especially for those of us who have break towards the beginning of March. Logee's is the perfect place to feel the warmth, and smell the aromatic flowers they have growing, and the lemons and other fruits they have growing, and it is located at 141 North St, Danielson, CT 06239.

4. Newport Cliff Walk & The Breakers

The cliff walk, located at 99 Wetmore Ave, Newport, RI, offers beautiful views, even in the off seasons. See all the beautiful mansions and go out for some lunch in Newport!

5. Groton Bluff Point State Park & Paul's Pasta

If you're looking for a quieter secluded ocean walk, drive on over to Groton Bluff Point State Park at 55 Depot Rd, Groton, CT 06340. Here you can walk along beautiful ocean trails and walk down to the actual beach as well if you'd like! After working up an appetite head over to Paul's Pasta at 223 Thames St, Groton, CT 06340 for some delicious freshly made pasta and homemade sauces!

6. Wrentham Village Premium Outlets

If you have a hole burning in your pocket, head to the mall, or head to the Wrentham Premium Outlets where you can get amazing deals on your favorite brands. The outlets are located at 1 Premium Outlet Blvd, Wrentham, MA 02093.

7. Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum

There is bound to be a rainy day sprinkled in to spring break, so take your rainy day to explore one of the most criminally overlooked museums in Boston, located at 25 Evans Way, Boston, MA 02115.

After meandering through this beautiful art museum, taking in the beauty of the art and the courtyard garden, growing and open year round, head over to one of Boston's other numerous museums or Quincy Market!

8. Fantastic Umbrella Factory

Very busy in the summer months, this is the perfect time of year to explore the umbrella factory and avoid the crowds. This one of a kind place is a collection of artisan and folk shops. However, there is something for everyone!

Fed the Emu's and chickens and talk a walk through their bamboo forest as you explore the property. Located at 4820 Old Post Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813.

9. Smith College Botanic Garden

Still need to get some green and colors in? Explore one of the many Botanical Garden Greenhouses in Massachusetts, such as the Smith College Botanic Garden located at 16 College Ln, Northampton, MA 01063. After exploring the gardens, head over to the shops and restaurants in North Hampton, or make it a stop on route 9, or on your way to drive the Mohawk Trail in Western Massachusetts.

10. Cable Car Cinema

After a long week of exploring, take it easy at a movie, but not just any movie at any old theater. Check out Cable Car Cinema located at 204 S Main St, Providence, RI 02903 where you can see an interesting movie not available in other theaters and eat some of their delicious food during the movie!

Overall, I hope you all have an amazing spring break, enjoy the break and do your best to go make some memories while you have the time to do so!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
