Raleigh is one of my favorite cities! I have lived here the longest of all the cities I have lived in, so here is a short list of all my favorite places in one of my favorite cities.

1. Crabtree Valley Mall

I love going to Crabtree to get all my shopping done. We always eat at the same Chinese food place in the food court and go to the same coffee place each time we are there.

2. Cafe Luna

Cafe Luna in downtown Raleigh is also one of my favorite places to eat, especially since I got married there back in 2017. They are my favorite Italian restaurant in Raleigh.

3. Trali Irish Pub

I loveIf Irish food is your thing, then you must check out Trali's in Brier Creek. They have the best mac and cheese dish for $5!

4. Tasu Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar

This sushi place is my favorite in all of Brier Creek! All of their rolls are amazing, and so are their noodle bowls.

5. Carolina Ale House

This place is one of my favorites to go for wings!

6. Bad Daddy's Burger Bar

I love love love burgers and here they have so many different creations to choose from, or you can make your own.

7. Daylight Donuts

Donuts are my favorite breakfast food, and this place is m favorite place to go for donuts in all of Raleigh. Actually, it's my favorite donut shop ever.

8. Bruegger's Bagels

Bruegger's is also one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. The sausage and provolone cheese on a toasted plain bagel is delish!

9. Hibernian Pub

I love going here for lunch when I'm downtown. It's also special because I had my rehearsal dinner here. I love the burgers!

10. Great China

This Chinese place in Brier Creek is the best and has the best deals! I love the Singapore noodle dish here. It's gluten free, and you can either get it vegan, or with a mixture of beef, pork, and shrimp.

I hope you enjoy all my favorite places to eat!

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
