A while ago, you might remember I wrote an article about things I never knew about before coming to Nashville. Well I’ve been here for like 8 months, and I’ve found some areas I like to show off. Here are some of my favorites.

1. Adventure Science Center

Open from 10 to 5 almost every day, the Adventure Science Center is at the top of my list. I’ll admit, it’s more geared towards kids. I don’t care though. They have shows at the Sudekum Planetarium every day, and they’re enchanting. A lot of the exhibits stay the same, but there are a few that they switch out too. I definitely can spend a few hours there without getting bored.

2. Centennial Park

It’s so pretty! The Parthenon is also pretty cool, but I especially like the scenery at Centennial Park. The water is nice to sit by and just stare into, and the trees turn such a beautiful shade in the fall.

3. Taco Mamacita

This restaurant doesn’t have the best parking, but it makes up for it in food. This is one of the few places I will pay for an appetizer because their queso is just that good. They have an outside seating area, which is nice when the weather is. I believe I’ve taken every person who has visited to me to this restaurant. It’s pretty good, in my opinion.

4. Maggiano's

I’ll admit, I’ve only been here twice. But I’ve tried to make time to go back many a time. So many friends have recommended it to me that this list would be incomplete without mentioning it. I hope some day that I can get a large enough group to go that we can eat family style.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
