Places To Nap On Iowa State University's Campus

Because we all know that during the hour or so between classes, we aren't ACTUALLY going to study.

This past semester, every Monday and Wednesday, I had two hours between my 8 am and my 11 am. I know the struggle of leaving my bed in the morning, while also staying up super late getting homework done. So, I took it upon myself to find some of the best napping spots on campus for when you too have a break and don't feel up to studying. And no, it's not something simple like your dorm room.

1. Memorial Union

Okay, so the MU as a whole has plenty of great napping spots. There's the Multicultural Center, the Regal Room, and just any random table. Put your head down, headphones in, and you could be passed out in seconds!

Best part is, you won't get any weird looks! Almost everyone here wants to nap, but only the brave are willing.

2. MWL Commons Area - Second Floor

Okay, so I didn't actually nap here between classes, but I did between recruitment sessions. The AC and comfy couches helped me relax during a very stressful couple of days!

3. Central Campus

Central Campus was designed to be the ultimate napping area! Lay out and catch some rays, or grab a spot under one of the many trees that are perfect for hammocking and hiding from your troubles.

4. Cyride

On the way to class, you can always get some extra Z's. Find a seat, close your eyes, and let the soothing movements of Cyride take you away. Extra tip: Bus naps are the best when you have one of those one person seats.

5. Hixson-Lied Success Center

This is one of my favorite places to nap because there's never a ton of people around. Plus, they have super comfy couches and a bunch of windows that allow the sun to be a natural heater. I put on some Netflix and just drift off with ease.

6. Parks Library

I don't think this list would be complete if I didn't have The Lib on here! Parks Library has seating for over 2,500. That's over 2,500 places to nap! I would suggest that if you can find one of those cubby desks on second floor, you could probably stay there all day. I have!!

I've slept in every one of the places list above. At first I was doubtful, worried that someone might snap a picture of me zonked, but I've accepted it now. I think that when people see you napping somewhere, they don't think you're weird. They think of how lucky you are to get a break. Explore campus, let me know if you find a cool new spot to snooze!

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
