There are so many things to do in Columbus, but one of my favorite places to go is German Village. The adorable village has so many little shops and places to go, that you could spend an entire day exploring the village.
1. The Book Loft
The Book Loft is one of the largest bookstores in the country and contains 32 themed rooms full of books. Each rooms contain different themes such as Murder Mystery, Fiction, History and so many more. Little nooks and crannies make this location a maze that I never wanted to get out of. If you enjoy books and exploring in general, this is a must-see.
2. Schmidt's Fudge House
This is a great place to stop and try out sweets while exploring German Village. My sweet tooth is always looking for something new, so trying out a different fudge flavor or sweet whenever I'm in German Village is a must.
3. Shadowbox Live
Shadowbox Live is a non-profit performance troupe that produces plenty of engaging theater and shows. If you are out looking for a source of entertainment that isn't the typical movie showing, this is definitely a place to check out a show.
4. Schwartz Castle
If you are looking for something that deviates from the usual, Schwartz Castle should be up next on your list. The castle is the center of ghost stories and speculation, as it was built in the mid-1800's by a German businessman.
5. COSI
Even though COSI, or the Center of Science and Industry, is technically a little bit outside of German Village, it is something worth visiting. It has interactive science exhibits that made me, a journalism major, interested in science. Now that's saying something.
6. Clay Space
This ceramic studio offers classes and workshops where you are able to share and create personal works of art with clay. It's an inclusive and relaxed environment where you are able to experiment with an art medium you may not always get to try.
