The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the breeze is warm and inviting—summer is here at last. And that means it's finally time to plan your annual romantic getaway to Correctionville, Iowa! Think you've seen all the sights this Midwest paradise can offer? Think again!

1. The Western Iowa Co-Op Grain Elevator

The "gem of the Midwest!" Spend a relaxing day admiring the massive, majestic silos. When you're done, take a photo with your sweetheart against the lush backdrop of surrounding grain fields. Sheer romance!

2. Grace United Methodist Church

Be sure to stop at for a service before you leave town! Here you can dig into delicious coffee and pastries before at the site of Bruce and Shelly Gordon's legendary 25th-anniversary vow renewal potluck. What could possibly be a more appropriate place to celebrate the miracle of love?

3. Correctionville Public Library

No romantic getaway is complete without a stop at this charming destination. Wander the rows of classic novels, and—if you're feeling a little more adventurous—ask someone at the front desk for a key, so you can explore the fun, "single-stall" style bathroom! Time your visit right, and you just might drop in during one of the Correctionville librarians' famous Story Hours. Oh, The Places You'll Go, anyone?

If you and your honey are looking for a taste of history, perhaps plan a trip to the Nicklas Jensen Funeral Home. It's probably best not to head inside unless you've had an invitation, but nothing's to stop you snapping a few photos from the front sidewalk. Can't get enough? There are two more locations in Alta and Holstein—and they're all painted a different shade of beige!

4. Correctionville Dollar General Store

Longing for a slice of home while you're on the road? Why not take a few minutes to browse through the Correctionville Dollar General? Pick up some sour-cream-and-onion flavored ramen noodles and Pepto-Bismol to soothe your esophagus afterward, and you'll be cured of your homesickness in no time!

5. Gare's Bait and Tackle

Ready to get your hands dirty? Head down Driftwood Street for a real down-to-earth adventure! Gare's runs on an honor system, which means you can walk right in and leave the cash for your bait even if no one's at the counter. Chicken livers are only $3 a tub, and if you're lucky you might get one of their world-famous free popsicles out of the bargain!

6. Copeland Park

If you and your SO are more of the sporty type, why not hop down to beautiful Copeland Park, just west of town? Here you can find a great variety of sporty amusements, including a brand new disc golf course! According to the Correctionville Chamber of Commerce: "We still need signs and score cards but the tee boxes and targets have been installed." Wow—sounds like a great place to make memories that will last forever!

7. Correctionville Police Station

Hankering for a little bit more excitement during your trip? No better way to get your kicks than a visit from the friendly Correctionville Police Department. Plus, this activity is super easy to combine with another outing! Just sock the waiter in the jaw after your next meal, and you'll be getting a thrilling ride "downtown" in no time.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
