I’ve been in love with Disney and Pixar cartoons forever even now, into my adult life. I have an obsession with Toy Story since the film came out in 1995. My dad would buy me the little toys and big toys and at one point the toys were being given away in the happy meals at McDonald’s and I even though I didn’t eat McDonald’s I wanted the toy, so I would get that toy.
I also love museums so I keep up with what is going on at many museums. What will be showing and exhibited. When I learned that there was going to be a Toy Story exhibition at the California Science Center I was so excited and immediately wanted to go. So my next goal was trying to find anyone to join me in checking it out. I posted the exhibit on social media because I think it’s cool that Toy Story is on exhibition.
I finally found a friend to go with me and she has a daughter who was excited as I was to see what the exhibition had to offer. We decided to leave early and get there right as the science center opened because I had a feeling that even though it was a rainy day it would get packed.
We arrived and went to purchase the tickets so we can enter. We got the IMAX, Toy Story, and the Endeavour. I was so excited because the Endeavour was a bonus, though I had already seen it when it first arrived at the Science Center. We went straight to the exhibit as we waited in line to be allowed in. I was as happy as a little kid. As we walked into the exhibit there is a quick video about how toy story came about. As the video ended we were directed into another room where the official exhibit was.
To my excitement as we walked in there is a huge figure of Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc. This is another one of my favorite Pixar films. I took a picture with Sully, Mike, and Buzz light year. Initially I wanted to cry because I love Buzz, but I just took a few pictures with the figure. Walking around there was also Finding Nemo, Cars, Bugs Life, Up, Wall-E, Inside out, the Incredibles family and when I saw Edna “E” mode I about screamed (she is my favorite from the cartoon, Darling’). I just had to take a picture with her figure. There was a huge mockup of the Bugs Life I was so happy. As we continued our walk around there was Dory from Finding Nemo and took some pictures. What I loved about the Dory figure is I was able to change the color of the background which I found to be cool. I was also able to change the wave sequence for the ocean scene. There was so much more to see you must take a visit before it’s gone. I would love to explain more but you need to see if for yourself.
I recommend you take your kids if they love any one of these cartoons. Pixar is awesome, I love all of their creation of cartoons. So go and visit the Los Angeles Science Center.
