She shudders in her sleep,
Another bad dream,
I can't even imagine,
The horrors that she's seen,
Yet if you ask the world,
She's the one we should fear,
My dainty little pitbull,
Sad beyond her years.
Although I'll never leave her side,
The world sure makes it hard,
To find a place where she's allowed,
We must search way too far.
As she turns and smiles,
Or lets out a big sigh,
It's all that I can do,
Not to break down and cry.
We consider ourselves so open,
So accepting of different hearts,
Yet those with the purest souls,
We leave out in the dark.
When will pitbulls find justice?
When will the world hear our plight?
Why can't people realize,
Pitbulls aren't born to fight?
When will people realize,
Its they who cause the fear,
The actions of those around them,
Is what harms the dogs they rear.
I will not stop fighting,
I will show the world their love,
Someday everyone will realize,
Pitbulls are angels sent from above.
