Pinterest Runs My Life

I have a board for everything and there is a board titled everything.

Pinterest Runs My Life

I wake up every day and check Pinterest for what I want to wear. My actual wardrobe is nothing like my cyber wardrobe but I make do with what I have. I trade in my designer cyber clothes for my cheap clothing store somewhat look-alikes.

I look at all the amazing newest trends of makeup with all the bright colors, sparkles, and glitter glamour. Then I put on my routine foundation, blush and mascara. Sometimes I mix things up by adding eye shadow, eyeliner, and lipstick. Overall my makeup does not take more than thirty minutes and more than likely it only takes about ten. Let’s be real if I had the time and skill I would do these very elaborate designs but I have neither so I call it good enough.

I look at all the amazing hair styles. My hair is really long and goes down pretty far on my back so I have plenty to work with. If I’m feeling really fun I take the two hours to curl my hair but it needs to be something special or I need to do something with my hands for a while. Most morning I wake up shake my hair and leave it to all its wild crazy curly waves. My hair that I affectional refer to as “The Lion’s Mane.” Sure it is not the beauty of that Pinterest has but it is the beauty of sleeping in a little longer rather than doing my hair.

Sometimes I get a little crazy and have leftovers for breakfast. It is not those beautiful artisanal food that Pinterest has to offer but it is more than likely box mac-n-cheese or freezer pizza which makes for an amazing breakfast. Sometimes n the weekend I will make waffles but they are freezer waffles and its usually 11 in the morning but that is as close to it gets for a fancy breakfast for me.

I make sure that I pick out a healthy snack that I have spent so much time picking out and making sure it will keep me full for the day because there is nothing worse being hungry at school. So I take my time putting my Poptart in my back pack in hopefully a place where it will not get smashed. Although it probably will get smashed and I am okay with that. I prefer to tear my food rather than bite into it. I read that on Pinterest that it could stain your teeth although I do not remember if Poptarts were on that list. I only tear the easy food though. You will not see me tearing a sandwich or burger but a dinner roll for sure.

I am not the kind of girl who plans her wedding on Pinterest for two reasons. One: I plan on not spending a ton of money on my wedding and would rather buy local or semi-local rather than buying online. Two: I have better things to do with my time on Pinterest like looking up cats that I will never own or workout plans I will never actually do.

I spend time looking up how to solve my acne and dry skin problems but untimely I spend my night washing off my makeup and showering. I do not want to take up too much time getting ready for bed because lying in bed before falling asleep is primetime to plan out my next day on Pinterest that I will more than likely not actually follow.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
