I am a huge advocate for both YouTube and Pinterest. They are both amazing ways to spend your time and can help reignite passions through every pin or video. YouTube is great because people give their first-hand account and you can see what worked for them. I love watching routine videos because I can see what specifically worked for them and I can try and incorporate it into my own life. But that's the thing - you're limited to what YouTubers have tried, decided to film and then decided to show you, the viewer. You're at the liberty of the YouTuber.
If you're unaware of what Pinterest is, get ready to have your mind blown. It's basically an online dream-board. Okay not as mind-blowing, but if you're like me and like to plan out as much of your life as possible, then you should know how incredible Pinterest can be. As an embarrassing example, I have some aspects of (hopefully) my future wedding figured out. I have so many options to choose from that when the right guy comes along and the day comes around, it'll be easy to pull up what dress style I like or what color scheme was my favorite. It's honestly foolish, but you know what? It's fun. It's fun to categorize different aspects of your life and plan to try new things. You can get inspired with fun dessert recipes or outfit inspiration depending on the season or color scheme.
Another great thing about Pinterest is that the categories are endless. You literally can look up anything specific and there's a 98 percent chance you'll find what you were looking for and more. Like I mentioned earlier, I am such a planner. Almost to the point where I probably add more stress to my life worrying about things that haven't happened yet. Anyways, Pinterest was my go-to for vacation planning and not the traditional aspects you might think of like routes or destinations. I spent hours on there looking for hidden gems other people discovered, great photo spots, and hiking-specific outfits. The best things are the blogs that can be linked to the pin and you can find additional information that could you lead you to new interests.
Did you know that you can add friends on Pinterest? If not, now you know and you're very welcome. I love seeing what my friends are liking on Pinterest or what their boards look like compared to mine. It's another way I find myself getting inspired to start new boards or to find new things to add to mine. Plus, it's always fun seeing what you're friends are up to and getting inspired by.
I'm not knocking YouTube, but Pinterest gives me free-reign to search any topic and find specific things I want to try or use as inspiration for different aspects in my life. I promise you if you try out Pinterest, you'll get hooked. If not, you're probably doing something wrong.
