Every single person on this Earth lives a different life than you. Isn’t that amazing? Everyone has a life that is compiled of everything that has made that person who they are today. Everyone has a puzzle, and everyone has different pieces. Everyone’s puzzle is painted by memories, love, loss, hope; the things that shape who they are.

My puzzle is a combination of the amazing people in my life, the hardships and struggles I’ve faced, the things that make my soul happy, and everything in between that holds me together. All of my pieces fit together to maintain a balance; all of my pieces compliment one another.

I know someone who would give their happiness up just to see me smile. They help bring my puzzle to life, and can change my perspective from dark to light no matter how bad things may be. When I feel like I am alone, I realize I never can be because they will always be there to guide me through whatever struggle I may be facing.

Have you ever had something or someone come into your life and suddenly everything seems clearer? Have you ever experienced the calmness that comes with having a soul intertwined with your own?

I know someone that can give me butterflies from states away. Someone who has my heart, and someone who amazes me just by their existence. My first beer, my first interest, my first love. They bring nostalgia to my puzzle; someone who holds memories on their lips and my love in their head, because they’ll always know I love them but never let themselves return the love back to me.

Have you ever looked at your life and wondered if it could be better? Have you ever questioned where you’ll be in the future, or who you might turn into? Have you ever wondered what your puzzle is going to look like when it’s finished? My puzzle is far from finished, but it shows me the things I know, and it helps me understand the things I feel.

I know the feeling of being alone; the feeling that your puzzle pieces just don’t fit like they used to. The feeling you get when you look around and you don’t see anything that can keep your attention because you’re too busy trying to focus on finding all the missing pieces to rebuild yourself.

I know someone who believes in me more than I could ever believe in myself. Someone who pushes me to be the best at everything, because they believe I can. When I feel like I am straying away from the things I want most, they are always there to remind me that I can succeed. They help me reach for the things I want so badly but am too afraid to reach for. They bring inspiration and dreams to my puzzle.

I know the anxious feeling that comes with worrying about wasting the time that I have in my life. I want to do amazing things in my life, and I want to leave a story behind that I would love to read. I want to have a life that reflects every aspect of who I am. I want to give life just as much as I live it.

I can’t paint a picture of what my puzzle will look like. I can’t tell you how long it will take me to find all the right pieces, and I can’t even be sure if it will be the only puzzle I ever put together. But I can say that I have a beautifully, unique puzzle that continues to grow every day.

We all have our own puzzles that highlight the things that we shouldn’t take for granted. They help us see the things in life that make us. Our puzzles show us that we can create beautiful things, and to never rush to finish them. Great things take time; make your puzzle great.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
