M & M Pie

This, my friends, is the best recipe in the history of the Odyssey online journal. This recipe combines history, ingenuity, creativity and mystery. Those words all encapsulate this incredibly important and fine-tuned recipe that, until now, has never been released to the public. This recipe has seen many years of life. For nearly 13 years it has floated in the atmosphere just waiting to be discovered, and I have found it.

I plan to give it its earned glory. This recipe for a dessert dish is so incredible that I have been hesitant to share it before, but I think I am finally ready to release it into the wind like aspen leaves in the fall. This recipe will change your life and it came from an extremely unlikely creator. A kindergarten student. Now, I know what your are thinking and I realize that spun you for a loop, but mark my words, this impeccable piece of culinary mastery is only possible to find deep in the constantly working synapses of a child’s mind. My gosh, I have waited for so many years for this day to come, and it is finally here. I can hardly control my emotions. This release is like the ribbon cutting for a new era in baking. Well, without further ado and fluffing, I present to you my very own kindergarten recipe for M & M Pie. Careful, you just might learn something.

And so folks, there you have it: the imagination, ignorance and wonderful mind of a child all wrapped up into one fantastic recipe for M & M Pie.

Throw caution to the wind, do not be afraid to add more sugar or more eggs, even when you’re not quite sure how it will work out.

Mix it up. When you’re feeling dissatisfied with your life, seek out new opportunities that will make youhappy. You deserve it.

Persevere even when you’re not sure it will be worth the effort. Baking a pie for 10 hours on just five degrees might just leave you with cold dough, but maybe that’ll be the next big thing (I can see it now… “fro dough”). Forget the temperature. If you put in the time and effort, perhaps something great will come out of it.

Don’t forget balance in your life. Don’t make everything about the flash and the show. Limit yourself to four M & Ms so you can go pursue bigger, more meaningful ventures, like creating the perfect dough that will hold everything together.

And most of all, don’t forget to allow yourself wiggle room when it comes to a task. Allow your creativity to push outside of conventional boundaries; don’t get stuck in the box.

You may not see it now, but you are a wonderful inspiration, a hard worker and a recipe with potential. You may need to make some changes in your life, but that doesn’t mean you have to throw out your dough. Kneed it, or in other words, don’t throw out who you are to be what you see as a success. The only person you need to make proud is you. That’s all that matters, so just keep on mixing my friend.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
