In this day and age, it's not uncommon for people to meet over social media. We have apps like Tinder, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and countless others that allow us to meet people within a certain perimeter of us. Although this concept of online dating has become normal, some people definitely still need to work on their methods of approaching someone via phone screen. For all of the fellas out there who need a little bit of assistance in coming up with the best pickup line: don't use any of these (unless you want to be featured in another Odyssey article).

1. This is moving a little too fast.

2. This is just concerning... "Ignore this pic."

3. To be honest, I'm the one who came up with this. It didn't work.

4. Poultry puns aren't exactly the way to a girls heart... especially if you have to explain them.

5. This guy from my high school who waited three years to try again and then suddenly had no fear.

6. The guy who skipped straight to the important stuff.

7. He had a 1/365 chance of this working out in his favor.

8. Funny??

9. Please tell me one person who genuinely enjoys the taste of honeydew.

10. Don't assume her hobbies.

11. This just makes me uncomfortable.

12. We really didn't need to know that.

13. Please don't take the spooky approach two months after Halloween.

14. Good luck.

15. I don't really know if this is a pickup line or an insult.

17. Ugh.

18. Thanks, I think.

19. "Wife material" to "ho" real quick.

20. This guy who should probably spend more time seeing a surgeon and less time swiping right.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
