Your sisterhood bond with your Little is an essential part of Greek Life. Throughout the much anticipated/hectic rush week you will be scoping out all the girls not just for your future sisters but also for your future Little, you will ask yourself, "Is my future Little here?" Picking up Littles is a very important part of being in a sorority because you will be the one to mentor them and develop a close bond with. Having a great Big/Little match makes college life and your entire Greek Life experience that much better.

1. Connect.

In order to find the perfect Little you're going to have to talk to all the newbies and find common ground. You will develop many rush crushes because lets be real, all the new babies are so stink in cute and you could potentially see all of them as your Little. Your vibe attracts your tribe, so make sure you put out positive vibes so whoever you have your eye on will want you to be their Big.

2. You might get twins.

For me picking up twins was a no brainer. Both the girls that wanted me as their Big were the yin to my yang. Picking up a Little can be expensive and time consuming, so if you know that you want to pick up make sure you have enough money to pick up twins because you never know, maybe multiple girls that you have rush crushes on will want you. It would suck if there is two girls you really want as your Little and you don't have enough money to pick up two and you'll have to choose between the two. So be prepared.

3. Craft Craft Craft.

Once you find out if you're picking up and who it is it is time to craft your butt off. Picking up can be expensive but there is ways to be thrifty. Targets five dollar and below section will be your saving grace. They have so many cute things for cheap, like tumbler cups. Also the Dollar tree is a good place to get candy, candles and beauty products. They also have cheap glass wear that you can paint and bake in the oven. Canvas's are really expensive. If you buy bulk it will save you money in the long run because you can use left over canvas for Birthday and Christmas crafts. Sorority Letter shirts are SO EXPENSIVE, especially if you're in a local sorority. If you have time I recommend making the shirts yourself. It is time consuming so if you are a busy bee then the cheapest place to buy lettered shirts is online at Gone Greek, but be prepared to wait a couple weeks for them.

Spoiling your Little/Littles is so fun but remember that money doesn't buy friendship. Always be there for your Little through thick and thin. Cherish their company, hello dinner dates and wine nights. Most importantly love them unconditionally.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
