We've all had our moments; we hit a road-bump we were never expecting. Some are bigger than others, but they all can equally be a struggle. They are moments not always predicted or foreseen but you can't always prevent them. So how do you get past a bump in the road that does more harm than you thought? Well, there can be a few approaches.
The most reasonable and easy one comes from those you love. Sometimes all it takes is a person you truly can trust to tell you that you are capable and strong and powerful and can handle more than you think. It goes along with how our muscles tell our brain we are tired when we are only 40% to our breaking point. That being said, even when it feels like the heaviest blocks are falling on you, you can handle it. You're "muscles" can still take 60% more. Keep that in mind next time your body gives out.
The next way to get through what tears you apart, the classic option of using your hobby to pass time. Finding a new passion or hobby and dedicating more time and effort in to it is a great way to prove to yourself you are going to survive. Experience a new culture, indulge in a few history lessons, try golf lessons or a dance class, or become at master a poker and win all competitions and buy yourself a new purse. (I'm just kidding, spend money wisely during this time of your life, but some retail therapy can be healthy).
If those aren't enough, you can always refer back to this and read this quick pick me up that is inspired by every strong female singer...
First, as cliche as it sounds you really are a strong independent woman. You have way more gifts and skills than you can see right now so go out and discover them! You are going to be successful and can accomplish anything you put your heart and mind to. You have so many more opportunities that will come your way. So many new foods to taste and friends to make. You are going to receive promotions and feelings of accomplishments. If things begin to keep creeping in and feeling like a wall crumbling, then do something. You can't improve or grow or conquer anything without effort behind it. Buy a book and read it. Go to a social you might be uncomfortable at. Practice improving what you want fixed. You can do it. The last step, and some aren't always comfortable doing so... but the power stance and saying "I Got This" can do wonders.
I'm no inspirational TED talk speaker nor do I have a professional career but sometimes all you need is a small pick-me-up or help from someone else and then you can help yourself out more than you realize. Pick yourself up, go outside, and go back to being the bad-ass you are.
