Dear Phoenix Rising,

Let me just start off by telling you thank you.

Thank you for letting me be a fan again.

It had been over a year since I had gone to a soccer game as a fan. And let me tell you, I missed it!

I hadn't been to a game since I started college and began working towards my degree in Sports Journalism.

Anyone who knows anything about Sports Journalism, even Journalism, knows that we have to be unbiased as journalists.

So, because of that, I haven't been able to enjoy a soccer game as a fan. I haven't been able to enjoy a game like I once did because now I am over analyzing every little play and decision.

However, after months and months since moving here and of saying I would go to a Phoenix Rising, I finally did.

It was Friday night.

A sold-out game.

A Western Conference Semi-Final game.

It made me feel like I was a kid again. Going to soccer games in Mexico, singing and cheering from the top of my lungs. I had no care in the world and that is exactly how I felt when I stepped into that supporters' section on Friday.

And while I might have been drenched in beer and sweat, with no voice because I yelled too loud, it was the most alive I have ever felt in a very long time.

So, Phoenix Rising, thank you. I can't wait till the next season rolls around.
