"Game of Thrones" is the show everyone loves even though it's possibly the most depressing thing on television.
In all of its glory, it's taught us a lot of new definitions for words and phrases we thought we already understood. Boy were we wrong.
1. Weddings
What we once thought: Joyous celebrations of love and matrimony
What we know now: Bloodbaths where everybody dies
leaving you empty inside. Except when Joffrey dies, because that was a long time coming.
2. PETA
If you're a horse you face a 50/50 chance of getting beheaded or mutilated. The odds are far worse if you're a direwolf. #RIPSummer
If only we could go back to the good old days when Ghost was a little runt being discovered by Jon Snow for the first time.
3. An Eye For An Eye
Karma doesn't always come through, but when it does, it's full of irony. Sometimes, when you push a boy out a window and paralyze his legs, you get your dominant hand chopped off. Everything comes full circle.
4. Self Discovery
Arya needed some me-time to find herself, so naturally she went to an ancient house to learn how to peel people’s faces off so she could wear them. A little off the beaten path maybe but in the end she really did find herself so to each her own.
And she's going home!
5. Siblings
People you probably shouldn't make babies with unless you want another Joffrey.
6. Vengeance
Can include feeding your enemy a pie filled with his murdered sons and/or burning a sept full of people to the ground and destroying half the city in the process.
7. Sword
Actually a synonym for "heart," just ask Brienne of Tarth.
8. Shady
No one knows anyone's intentions ever, and that makes everything high key stressful 24/7.
Petyr Baelish: the shadiest of them all.
9. "Hold the Door"
I'm not crying, you're crying. *sobs uncontrollably*
10. Family Reunions
If the last of the Starks are ever reunited, after everything they’ve been through it should make for an interesting conversation.
11. Redemption
It's impossible to deny that Theon made a lot of mistakes, and Reek made a lot as well, but with Yara's help it seems that young Theon is on his way to becoming the man Ned Stark always wanted him to be.
12. Girl Power
*Drops mic*
Can't wait to see what other words get added to our dictionary in Season 7!
