I glance around as the setting sun dims the afternoon light. The wind is blowing slightly.
Look at your feet. You are standing in the sky. When we think of the sky, we tend to look up, but the sky actually begins at the earth. ~Diane Ackerman
I really love this quote, and the fact that it explains this picture perfectly. I have never really thought about the sky in this way much before, but it is true. People tend to think of the vastness and greatness of the sky to be very beautiful, but far beyond our reach. It is something that is simply "out there," visible, but never accessible. But actually, we are all a part of this. We live in it, not below it. It is right in front of us. This can be compared to life. All the opportunities and chances are at our finger tips – we just have to take a risk and grab them. Everything that we have learned has come from some form of chance. Think of what we would miss if we thought that living and taking life into our hands and making something wonderful was just something "out there," something great to think about, but, again, "out there." But it is not. Sometimes people say that life is from "B" to "D" – from birth to death. But between "B" and "D" is "C" – and what is "C"? Chances. Choices. Good stuff like that.
