Sunrise or sunset, our world is a beautiful place to be.

I have been thinking about something recently. How can someone tell the difference between a sunrise and a sunset? You know, during that moment when they both saturate the sky with numerous pastel colors and you cannot tell whether or not the sky will become lighter or darker? There is really no way to be 100% sure unless you look at your watch and know the natural order of things. Which, of course, everyone does, so we did not get anywhere with these ninety-five words so far. But, do you get what I am saying? Oh I know – if it was a picture it would be much harder. You can't put an exact time on a picture. Look up, I happen to have one. Before you read on, is it the endof a long day or the start of a new one? Ok, here's a hint:

"If you see the sunset, does it have to mean something? If you hear the birds singing does it have to have a message?" -Robert Wilson

"When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator." -Mahatma Gandhi

"Lost, yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered for they are gone forever." -Horace Mann

Sunrise or sunset, our world is a beautiful place to be. It is great to be alive. Living this life is a mix of success and failure, sadness and love and sacrifice, painted sunsets and wild storms. It's the rain that makes the sun seem so wonderful. And, never forget, whether the sun is coming up or going down, true peace is knowing who to thank.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
