Smell the fresh eggs cooking and the bacon frying. Feel the morning breeze coming through the door. Hear the people talking together. See the light coming through the kitchen window. The old Siamese cat jumps up on a stool and stares at you. Heaven? It is close.
This photograph was taking on the kitchen floor of a simple farmhouse, yet it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The early morning light hitting the window at just the right angle, creating small, colorful patterns on an old wooden floor. I learned that these would only stay for a little while as the world woke up. That is one of the reasons why I love this picture so much: it is definitely one of its kind. It is something that will never be seen this same way on Earth again. More importantly, it proves that beautiful things can be found anywhere you look. This photograph proves to me, and hopefully anyone else who sees this, that we have been given eyes for a reason. God wanted us to be able to see the wonderful world He has made for us and all the details that make it better, like dewdrops and smiles and little rainbow spots on farmhouse floors. "One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me upon a rock." – Psalm 28:7-9
