Remembering
piercing cold snow on the sidewalks.
Piles of clean, warm laundry,
Daisies playing hide-and-seek,
chilly weather lingers.
Indigo waves capped with white,
Sand between toes,
scorching sandy floor, those
many summers.
A gentle breeze is
blowing, hair scattered,
like salty ocean mist flowing
through the air,
cooling sun-kissed, skin.
Waves are crashing,
white sand nearly glowing,
nightfall housing the beauty
left in the day. The sunset is
bright, gleaming
in almost moonlit light.
Dark sky, full of stars, but they
don’t hesitate to convey the meaning
in the nighttime visit.
Wandering alone in the woods,
losing track of time,
tall emerald pines whisper hello,
faded blue jeans, ripped in the knee,
Tripping over feet of trees;
Memories are fleeting.
