Phoebe Buffay was no doubt one of the most special characters on NBC's hit television series "FRIENDS." Though her past was tragic, she was the show's positive, unique, happily oblivious character who always had a great line (or song) to bring some witty humor to the comedy. Here are just a few of the many reasons why Phoebe is definitely a character to be appreciated:
1. Phoebe will always be honest. Whether it is telling Monica how neurotic she's being or making Ross feel like he's being a girl, she is also a big believer in other people being honest too, like when she and Rachel schemed against Monica and Chandler while they were hooking up behind everyone's backs.
2. Phoebe knows how to get all the guys. Whether it's stealing Ursula's fiancé or dating two guys at once, Phoebe really knows what's up when it comes to the men in her life, except when she can't decide between a hot kindergarten teacher or a sexy fireman. What's interesting is that Phoebe was the only character on the show that did not have feelings for anyone in the group, although she did lock lips with Joey, Rachel, and Chandler. But I mean, she dated both Alec Baldwin and Charlie Sheen; girl must have stories to tell for days, until she ends up with the love of her life, Mike (a.k.a Paul Rudd), the overall goal that we can all aspire to achieve.
3. She knows how to be there for her friends. Whether it is taking Chandler to the strip club to get over his break up, or giving Rachel advice on Ross, Phoebe always knows how to support her friends through tough times.
4. She really knows how to get a good workout on. If she's not embarrassing Rachel by running through the streets of Manhattan like she has just witnessed Monica and Chandler getting it on again, she is getting bike riding lessons from Ross.
5. Phoebe is a very talented musician as well. One thing that isn't noticed on "FRIENDS" is that there is actually a schedule set in the back of Central Perk coffeehouse of what days of the week Phoebe plays, and that all of Phoebe's songs have titles, such as, Suicide and a Snowman, Addicted to Pork, and of course, the infamous, Smelly Cat.
6. She has the best lines of the show, obviously.
7. Phoebe's got a lot of street smarts. Let's just say that although Phoebe may be one of the nicer, unselfish, characters of the show, she still knows how to hold her own and is never afraid to speak her mind. From living on the streets during her childhood, she will never let anything stop her from getting what she wants, whether that be a cat she claims is her mother or the meat on Joey's sandwich during her pregnancy cravings.
8. She can speak her mind. Phoebe knows how to raise her voice, and she is not afraid to get everyone's attention when doing it to make sure they know they're eff'ing up.
