Being not only a Jersey girl, I am a south Jersey girl! Let's face it, south Jersey is pretty magical. Were right next to Philly and an hour away from Ocean City. And we home some very historical places as well. Like for instance, The Coastline in Cherry Hill. This place holds a very special place in my heart. My great-grandparents started going when it first opened back in 1979. Since then we've celebrated every holiday, birthday, and any other occasion it became a routine that we never got tired of.
This place is very popular in my family. My mom attended this bar when it was only a measly little barn! She said it was the coolest little hang out her and her friends always went on a Friday night. Also this was the place my great-grandparents headed to after Sunday night mass.
One of the things that made our times so memorable was my great-grandparents. Walter and Cecelia. They were just an old fashioned couple So cute in every way. They spent every Sunday getting dressed up and sitting down to a warm meal. my Great-grandfather always used to joke with the bus boys and ask staff constantly how their families were doing. The staff treated my handicapped great-grandmother with such care. The Coastline staff were so much more then their job title. They were our family for so many years. When we heard they were closing our hearts sank. We tried to make our last rounds of holidays last. We all raised our glasses at my brother's confirmation and cheered to the 37 great years that the Coastline of Cherry Hill, New Jersey had given my family and I.
To Walter and Cecelia, Thank you for making this place so special. And to the Coastline Bar & Grill, Thank you for every memory. From your amazing staff to great meals I can't say enough. Your walls may be taken down and your building may be no more, but my memories will never die. Like all who came here. With so much love and sadness I say — Goodbye.
