How much of an influence does music have on your life?

So imagine this - You are sitting on your couch relaxing, and you decide to pull out your smartphone and start jamming to the best tune ever made.

The sound of that song flows through your ears, and without thinking or reacting, your heart and brain go wild to that one beat drop or melody. Your arms start flinging, and before you know it, you are up "whipping" and "dropping" until your mom yells at you to go make some friends.

Think about how happy that one song makes you at the time and try to imagine this world without music.

This simple lyric has more power than one might think. Just like art and photography, one song can capture one moment in our lives.

That one love, experience, trip, trial, or adventure seemingly becomes attached to this music for a reason unknown.

Serving as a timestamp, the music industry and everyone in it has no doubt revolutionized pop culture over the years. For instance, if you started playing "Thriller" by Michael Jackson to me, my mind would instantly long for myself to go back and live in the 1980s. It is amazing how someone's music taste, no matter the age, can be polar opposite to someone else's!

And then you have the iconic dance moves of a certain generation. For the 1950s teens, you have the"jitterbug" and the "bop".

On the other hand for the 1980s teens, you have the "running man" and "the sprinkler".

And of course, for millennials, there is an endless amount of moves to account for...

None of these moves would have been brought to life if it weren't for music!

Now let's take it back to 1981.

The debut of Music Television, or "MTV", in 1981 would no doubt open up music like never before. With first words, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Rock and Roll", "MTV" would grow to be an iconic and dominant part of the music industry throughout the next 15 years. That historic "Moon Man" is still given out to the popular artists of today, and will be for the next century.

Due to "MTV" and other countless impacts, music will obviously never be the same.

Nothing can bring two people together more than music can. This bond might be considered stronger than anything else. Specifically for young adults and teens- considering the amount of music that strongly impacts their lives every day, it is no surprise that their tastes in the tunes can form a bond that is lifelong.

The legacies that influential artists leave behind will be cemented into history. In that case, we must never forget the breakthroughs of these talents. Remember the affect all of these people had on our lives today.

No matter what age you are, you will never forget the "audio-scrapbook" of your past. I cannot imagine a world where music is nonexistent. So I ask, what ways has music impacted your life?

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
